LASO deploys Super Wing Carrier and Modular Trailer to transport components for Spanish wind farm
LASO Transportes recently completed the transport of 121 components for the new Atalayas onshore wind farm in Castile and León, Spain.
This project, which took place from June 11th to July 12th, involved meticulous planning and detailed logistics to ensure the efficiency and safety of each component transported. Over the course of approximately a month, a team of more than 40 professionals, including drivers, pilots, commercial staff, traffic managers, and engineers, worked diligently to coordinate the transports from various loading points: Aranda de Duero, Daimiel, and Santander.
To carry out this project, the team resorted to vehicles suited for transporting large and heavy components. For the wind turbine blades it was used the “Super Wing Carrier,” a vehicle specifically designed for the safe and efficient transport of wind blades. For the other components, the “Modular Trailer” was employed, offering flexibility and adaptability to different cargo needs.
Operations of this magnitude required meticulous planning to coordinate and plan the various possible routes. Police escort was also essential to minimize traffic impact and ensure the safety of everyone involved.
“The involvement and dedication of the entire team were crucial to the successful execution of this project, ensuring that all stages were completed efficiently and, most importantly, safely,” stated the project coordinator. “Every obstacle we overcome reinforces our commitment to innovation and excellence.” Source: LASO
