LASO Delivers Two 50m Bridge Sections to the Port of Aveiro for Shipping to the Port of Rotterdam
LASO successfully completed the transport of two large bridges manufactured by Martifer – Construções Metalomecânicas, S.A. The transport of these massive structures took place in early August, from Oliveira de Frades to the Port of Aveiro, and then continued by sea to the Port of Rotterdam.
Each of the bridges transported were approximately 50 meters long. Due to their size, the transport required the use of a Tower Adapter, a device that allows for hydraulic adjustment to the width of the cargo, facilitating the execution of more complex manoeuvres.
The operation faced several challenges due to the dimensions and weight of the bridges, necessitating detailed and rigorous planning to avoid obstacles and minimize risks. The roads were prepared to ensure the safe passage of the structures, involving coordination with local authorities to ensure a smooth operation.
The complexity of the transport was not limited to the size of the bridges, time management was also crucial. Every detail was closely monitored by LASO’s team of specialists.
The success of this operation reflects the competence and dedication of the team, who ensured the safe delivery of the bridges. Safety was the top priority throughout the entire operation, to protect the bridges, the staff involved, and the general public. “This transport reaffirms LASO’s ability to tackle and overcome large-scale logistical challenges. This partnership with Martifer is a testament to the trust that one of the leading industrial companies places in LASO for the execution of highly complex operations,” shared the traffic manager for this project.
With the successful execution of this project, LASO once again demonstrates its commitment to safety and excellence, continuing to exceed its clients’ expectations. This project is clear evidence of LASO’s capability to face and overcome the most complex obstacles.
