LASO Basque Country and Netherlands collaborate on challenging oversized cargo transport from Spain to Germany

LASO Basque Country and LASO Netherlands recently completed a significant transport project, ensuring the integrity of oversized pieces from Spain to their final destination in Dresden, Germany.

The project, which began with the Basque Country team, involved loading and transporting the goods overland to the port of Pasajes in Spain. From there, the parts were loaded onto a ship heading towards Rotterdam, where the Dutch subsidiary took over the responsibility, continuing the transport by road all the way to Dresden. This complex operation required detailed collaboration between both LASO units, including studies and actions to ensure the safe passage of the transports through the Netherlands and Germany.

Transporting pieces with a width of 6 metres across several European borders brought numerous logistical challenges, especially when passing through narrow places. In some cases, street furniture and traffic signs had to be dismantled to allow the lorries to pass. In addition, it was necessary to obtain a special license due to the width of the cargo.

The client expressed great satisfaction with the work handled by LASO. The transport was carried out safely, without damage and on time, demonstrating the competence and efficiency of LASO in complex logistics projects.

‘Carrying out this transport was a significant challenge due to the size of the parts and the road restrictions involved. Co-operation between the different LASO units was essential to the success of the project,’ said the company. ‘A project of this scale required exceptional coordination, not only between subsidiaries, but also with the other transport modes and the local authorities.’

LASO Transportes therefore continues to consolidate its position as a leader in logistics and special transport, demonstrating its technical and operational capacity in highly complex projects. Source: LASO
