Kraanverhuur Tholen Takes Delivery of New Grove GMK4080L All-Terrain Crane

Dutch crane company Kraanverhuur Tholen has received one of the first Grove GMK4080L all-terrain cranes, a newly launched model from Manitowoc in April 2023. Kraanverhuur Tholen owner Jordy Weggemans selected the GMK4080L for its capabilities and versatility.

“I was looking for a crane that could access narrow jobsites and handle jobs typically performed by a 50t crane, with impressive load charts for jobs in the 70t to 80t class. A long boom is also useful for high-altitude jobs or large radii where we would otherwise need a larger crane. Grove’s GMK4080L had everything we were looking for,” he said.

Grove’s GMK4080L is an 80t, four-axle all-terrain crane featuring a 60m boom – the longest in its class – combined with the lowest gross vehicle weight. It can carry up to 5.2t counterweight while maintaining 10t per axle and that can be increased to 13.3t counterweight with a 12t axle load. Alternatively, it can drive with its full 19.1t counterweight with a rating at less than 16.5t axle load. The crane’s versatility and strong load charts, both with full and taxi counterweight, make it the ultimate choice.

The crane is being used to renovate and expand a residential home in Tholen, Zeeland. The timber frame construction is utilizing the crane to lift several large wooden support beams and to lift and unfold hinged roof elements.

Kraanverhuur Tholen is a crane company specializing in construction. It is centrally located in The Netherlands and operates in the triangle of the Dutch provinces of Zeeland, South Holland, and Noord-Brabant.
