Kotter Platform Lifted for Decommissioning

This week Heerema Marine Contractors’ SSCV Thialf lifted the topsides unit of the K-18 Kotter platform in the Dutch sector of the North Sea. The SSCV Thialf was assisted by the tugs Kolga and Centaurus.

The Kotter came onstream with oil in 1984 for the Continental Netherlands Oil Company, CNOC, the Dutch division of the U.S. Company CONOCO.

The platform was later taken over by Wintershall for gas production from 2012 until 2015 from the Golf Field
