Kalmar E-RTGs Arrive at Port Miami
In February last year we reported on a deal signed by South Florida Container Terminal , LLC (SFCT), Port Miami and Kalmar, part of Cargotec. Kalmar were to deliver six Kalmar Zero Emission Rubber-tired Gantry cranes (RTGs) early in 2020.
Yesterday the AAL Newcastle docked in Port Miami with the six E-RTGs, any earlier in 2020 would not have really been possible!
Port Miami CEO, Juan Kuryla, SFCT Director, Mark Baker, APM Terminals, and the entire port team turned out to meet the vessel and welcome the arrival of new electric equipment.
The zero emissions E-RTGs will replace diesel powered equipment and are a major investment paving the way for future cargo growth at the port.
