Integrated Logistics Company Remove Temporary Bridges on KSA to Kuwait Express Highway
In Feb-2019, Integrated Logistics Company successfully removed two temporary bridges with the collaboration of Alghanim International at King Fahad Bin Abdul Aziz road (Express Highway 40), connecting new road to Wafra, Kuwait. The bridges weighed 118t and 105t.
The major challenge was to remove both temporary bridges in the short target time of 32 hours , as this is the express highway connecting to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Kuwait City.
To optimize the project schedule and work around the space constraints, Alghanim international turned to ILC to provide a faster lifting solution that would reduce the entire working time to keep within the limited time schedule. ILC responded immediately and proposed Terex AC 1000 all-terrain crane as the best solution for the job. It could lift the two bridges at two locations in an operation that would usually take up 72 hours to complete. ILC’s best crew worked in double shifts and completed the whole process in less than 32 hours.
ILC’s approach, using AC 1000 mobile crane instead of the crawler, managed to reduce the working time to the small target time, assisted by a first class crew who saved a significant amount of time. Alghanim International’s project was on track thanks to ILC.
