Herbosch-Kiere Marine Contractors on Final Stage of Royal Sovereign Lighthouse Demolition

The demolition of The Royal Sovereign Lighthouse continues with Part 2 now in full progress!

After successfully removing the accommodation unit in the summer of 2023, Herbosch-Kiere Marine Contractors Ltd have moved on to dismantling the final pillar.

This massive structure is being cut into 12 sections, each weighing between 80t and 120t.

Thanks to the precise cutting and drilling work by Robore and Northern Divers (Eng) Ltd, and the efficient lifting operations with the JB119 from Jack-Up Barge BV, everything is moving forward smoothly.

The sections are being loaded onto a barge and transported to Shoreham-by-Sea, where the Herbosch-Kiere’s sheerlegs crane barge, Antigoon, unloads them for further demolition and recycling
