Helicopter Repatriation from Jebel Ali to Portugal by Heavy Lift Group
L.Branco received a request from a Portuguese helicopter operator to assist on the
repatriation of four helicopters that had for long been operating in the Persian Gulf under an
offshore contract.
L.Branco promptly contacted THLG member Consolidated Shipping Services Dubai, Mr
Sreenath, for local assistance at Jebel Ali, while L.Branco negotiated the sea transport on flat
racks for the helicopters plus a regular 40ft container for the accessories, parts and tools.
At Jebel Ali, in addition to the Customs formalities and internal movements within the port,
Consolidated Shipping Servvices organized the disassembling of helicopters’ blades, parts of
the tail, etc., having provided tailor-made boxes for the blades.
Parts and tools were stuffed in a 40ft container while helicopters were duly wrapped with
plastic-shrink cover and subsequently loaded on four flat racks and duly lashed.
Helicopters arrived Portugal in perfect condition, within Principals’ transit time request.
An excellent service provided by Consolidated Shipping Services Dubai team and one more
example of a nice, perfect collaboration between two THLG members!
