Heerema Marine Contractors puts ONE-Dyas’ N05-A platform firmly in place
After years of preparation, ONE-Dyas’ gas platform N05-A is now firmly in place in the North Sea. The installation of both the jacket foundation and topside was performed by Heerema Marine Contractors.
The installation phase started with the lifting of the undercarriage (jacket) and platform (topside) from the quay at HSM Offshore Energy BV onto the H-406 barge for transport earlier this month.
Clarksons Port Services, who assisted Heerema during this campaign with the crew coordination, CTV transfers and helicopter flights, reported that the installation of the platform was completed on 8 August.
The installation was performed by Heerema Marine Contractors’ semi-submersible crane vessel Sleipnir. The crane vessel placed both parts in the North Sea. With extreme precision, the six-legged non-battered jacket was lifted and precisely positioned on the bottom of the sea. Then it was the 3200 tonnes weighing topside’s turn.
The first natural gas from N05-A is planned for the end of 2024. The NO5-A Platform will then be the first electrified gas production platform in the North Sea. It will be powered by the German Riffgat wind farm.
