Goodrich Central Asia Shipping from Australia to Kazakhstan

Goodrich Central Asia LLP, a member of the Project Logistics Alliance representing Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, is proud to share with us a project they undertook in the month of May, when many countries were still under lockdown due to Covid-19. The project involved shipping three motor coolers for the mining industry from Australia to Kazakhstan.

Each of them measured 4.83 x 3.5 x 2.63 meters, and weighed 15 metric tons. They were loaded into three 40’ flatracks containers in Australia, from where they further sailed towards China. These were then transferred onto three low bed trucks for the onward journey. From China, these coolers undertook a 4000-kilometre-long road trip to reach their final destination in Kazakhstan.

Since this movement was carried out during the peak of COVID-19, there were a lot of challenges that the project and operations team faced. To begin with, the blank sailings from carriers did not help. Further more, since drivers from China were not allowed to enter Kazakhstan due to strict border control, the cargo had to be reloaded onto local trucks from Kazakhstan at the border. Despite all these obstacles, Goodrich Central is proud to have delivered this cargo on time.
