Goldhofer Set for a Move in 2020
Goldhofer makes a long term investment in a modern production facility, relocating from Ostfildern to nearby Nürtingen.
More space for advanced production technologies: With the acquisition of a 30,000 square meter site in Nürtingen, Goldhofer has paved the way for the planned relocation within the region of its Airport Technology production facility in Ostfildern.
With the signing of the deed of sale in December 2018, the Goldhofer Group has set the stage for modernization of its production site in Ostfildern. The industrial site in neighboring Nürtingen, just 20 kilometers away, offers ample space for a state-of-the-art production plant and ultra-modern workplace in the region for Airport Technology’s current total of 155 employees. “For us it was a major objective to modernize and upgrade our production facility,” says Lothar Holder, Member of the Board at Goldhofer AG with responsibility for Airport Technology. “As part of our global growth strategy in the Airport Technology division, we continue to focus on bundling our production capacities in Germany with our twin locations in Memmingen and Ostfildern or, in future, Nürtingen. That is the key to maintaining the consistently high quality of our ground support vehicles and creating the capacities needed to achieve our targets for future growth.”
Construction of the new plant to begin in 2020
The purchase agreement was signed at the Nürtingen office of the notary public Dettinger, Gollnisch & Heilig by Siegbert Koegst (for LBBW Immobilien Kommunalentwicklung as the seller) and Hubert Schaller and Friedrich Hesemann as Members of the Board at Goldhofer AG. The ceremony was also attended by Christian Franz, who represented the Nürtingen municipal authority in the negotiations. The application for the construction permit for the new Goldhofer plant will be submitted on completion of the planning phase by the end of 2019. The goal is to complete the new production facility within three years of receipt of the building permit.
