Global Ports Group Add New Terminal Tractors and Semi Trailers to Great Port of St Petersburg Fleet

Global Ports Group has purchased 32 new terminal tractors and 40 semi-trailers – a total of 72 units of equipment – for First Container Terminal and Petrolesport (“FCT” and “PLP”), both part of Global Ports Group and located in the Great Port of St. Petersburg. This new modern equipment will increase the efficiency and speed of cargo handling at both terminals’ container storage yards and berths.

FCT has received 15 Terberg YT193 tractors and 16 Seacom semi-trailers with a capacity of 60 tonnes. 17 Kalmar T2 tractors and 24 Seacom semi-trailers with a capacity of 40 and 60 tonnes have been purchased for PLP.

The vehicles will be used to handle 20, 40 and 45-foot containers, supporting the operations of RTG and RMG cranes, as well as STS cranes.

Tractor cabins meet the European safety standards and the ROPS and FOPS technical requirements to protect the operator in the case of machine rollover and from falling objects. The new equipment is easily manoeuvered and performs well in both high and low temperatures, and has already proven its performance during the heat in St. Petersburg in June.

Global Ports continuously upgrades the fleet of its terminals’ equipment and purchases machinery from the world’s leading brands. This makes it possible to efficiently handle cargo flows and maintain a unified high standard of service throughout the operator’s terminal network.
