

Fremantle Highway Arrives Safely in the Port of Eemshaven at 13.30 CET
Fremantle Highway has arrived at 13.30 today in Eemshaven. The ship is due to moor at the agreed location by about 14.30. Groningen Seaports have requested that everybody sould give the organizations involved the space to do their job, so that the ship can dock safely.
The Groningen Security Region is involved in the situation around the Fremantle Highway.
The Port of Eemshaven has been designated by Rijkswaterstaat (the Ministry of Infrastructure & Water Management) as a so-called Port of Refuge, which is seen as a port of call for ships in distress. As manager of the Eemshaven, Groningen Seaports ensures that daily activities are hindered as little as possible. The companies in Eemshaven have been informed by the Groningen Security Region.
Together with Rijkswaterstaat , the Groningen Security Region and the Municipality of Het Hogeland, among others, are doing everything they can do to limit the damage to people and the environment as much as possible.
