Follow Collett Specialist Heavy Transport Group’s MD, David Collett, on Fund Raising 1,000 mile Jog
Running to raise money for Overgate Hospice, in memory of his wife Debs, David Collett will take the scenic route over 63 legs for 1,000 miles from July to September.

David’s 1,000 mile Jog route from Land’s End to John O’Groats
The Collett Jog will see David run 100 miles a week for 10 weeks, with his running club, Northowram Pumas supporting along the way. Setting off this Sunday, 3rd July, the 63 legs, which vary between 13 and 20 miles, will be interspersed with some Parkrun tourism along the way!
“I wanted to raise this money for such an amazing charity which is close to my heart in loving memory of my wife Debs. I am really looking forward to taking on the challenge and hope my community can support to raise as much as possible.” David explains. “Starting on 3rd July, leaving Land’s End, I will run approximately 100 miles per week, taking 10 weeks to reach John O’Groats after 1,000 miles and over 70,000 ft of elevation, that’s over twice Mount Everest and three times more than Kilimanjaro!”
Becki Marren Business Partnerships Manager said, “I want to say a huge thank you to David for his dedication to the Hospice, for choosing to take on this incredible challenge to raise £10,000! Your valued support means so much to us.”
A full agenda of the 63 run legs and Parkrun’s will be posted on social media channels, and if anyone would like to join David you’re more than welcome to come along and show your support. Through the sponsorship of MAN Trucks and Collett Transport, David is offering anyone who runs one of the legs and donates to his fundraising, a free Collett Jog running shirt to mark the occasion.
