The United Kingdom’s premium crane service provider for mobile cranes to the construction industry, RRC Crane Hire Ltd together with Road Rail Cranes Ltd, has added a new Demag® AC 300-6 all terrain crane to its sizeable specialized equipment fleet, the first unit to be delivered in the UK. The 300-tonne (350 US ton) crane delivers class-leading reach combined with strength, including the ability to lift 15 tonnes on a full 80 meter boom.

“Since adding our first specialized crane in early 2013, we’ve worked hard to build an impeccable reputation for network rail infrastructure,” explained Ian Cross, managing director for RRC. “From the very beginning, we knew the company would be successful if we employed highly trained operators and equipped them with quality and innovative equipment. The Demag AC 300-6 all terrain crane exemplifies those standards and will be a great addition as we continue to grow as a company.”

RRC chose the Demag AC 300-6 crane because it is quick to rig and can carry 19.2 tonnes (22.2 US tons) of counterweight while maintaining axle loading below 16.5 tonnes. “There are so many cost- and time-saving features incorporated into the design of this crane,” he added. “We know it will get a lot of use and yield a high return-on-investment.”

Another critical consideration in RRC’s decision was support. Cross said Terex Cranes is an industry leader in the UK. “The parts supply and technical service we receive is excellent, which is just another reason we haven’t considered other manufacturers’ products for our requirements.”

In total, the RRC Group owns and operates more than 24 Terex and Demag cranes.
