First Blades for Iles d’Yeu and Noirmoutier OWF Arrive in Nantes-Saint Nazaire Port
Port logistics associated with the Iles d’Yeu and Noirmoutier offshore wind farm started last week when the 9,565t Rotra Mare from the Amasus fleet docked in Saint-Nazaire on Thursday with the first blades of the wind turbines that will equip the offshore wind farm of the Iles d’Yeu and Noirmoutier on board.
This was an important step in the construction of the 4th French offshore wind farm, which is due to be commissioned by the end of 2025.

Since mid-November, components for the offshore wind turbines produced by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy have been arriving in the port of Saint-Nazaire, the marshalling port for the Iles d’Yeu and Noirmoutier offshore wind farm, operated by the company Éoliennes en Mer des îles d’Yeu et de Noirmoutier (EMYN), a subsidiary of OW Ocean Winds.
With a length of 81m, the blades from Siemens Gamesa’s production plants in Le Havre were discharged using the port’s Liebherr LHM 600 and LHM 550 mobile harbour cranes, positioned in tandem, on the quay of the Prise d’Eau in Saint-Nazaire.

The operation mobilised the teams of ATLANTIQUE MANUTENTION, SOGEBRAS, the Port Workforce Group (GMOP), Nantes-Saint Nazaire Port, in close collaboration with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, contracted by Les Éoliennes en Mer Services.
