An exciting new milestone has been reached on the Moray West project with the arrival of the first 108m blades and tower components at Port of Nigg for the Siemens Gamesa 14MW Wind Turbine Generator!
The pre-assembly activity of the 60 WTGs is being managed by Siemens Gamesa, who are also manufacturing a total of 180 B108 blades for the project at their quayside factory in Hull.
The OW Ocean Winds’ agreement with Siemens Gamesa, through their Moray West project, supported the recent doubling in size at the Hull facility to enable the production of these B108 blades!
When installed, they will be the longest in UK waters!
