Exceptional Transport of 263t Industrial Heat Exchanger on 14-axle Goldhofer Trailers by Marraffa – Video

Marraffa took care of the exceptional transport of a 263t industrial heat exchanger , 30m long. The heavy load was transported from the production factory located in Ricengo (CR) to the port of Cremona , along a route of approximately 90km. Once it arrived in the Port of Cremona, Marraffa took care of the loading for river transport on the Po River to the port of Marghera, where it was loaded onto a geared vessel with final destination Indonesia .

The main challenge regarding this exceptional movement was to find a route compatible with a convoy with a length of 70m , which also involved the crossing of residential areas.

This transport was possible thanks to the use of two independent 14-axle Goldhofer trailers equipped with fifth wheels , which allowed the transport of the very long load to be managed. With the help of these trailers, small radius curves can be made.

The transport was preceded by an accurate planning phase , taking advantage of river transport from Cremona to Marghera to minimize the impact on local roads.

The exceptional transport of the heat exchanger was successfully completed, thanks to the preparation of the Marraffa operators and the meticulous design work by their technical office.

In particular, the movement was preceded by a careful feasibility analysis , where Marraffa’s technical office verified that the geometry of the convoy was suitable for the route, resulting in the approval and  authorizations issued by the authorities involved.
