Equinor Installs first of four Martin Linge modules

The  first of four modules scheduled for installation on the Martin Linge field operated by Equinor has been installed by the Heerema crane vessel Thialf.

The field is located close to the the border with the UK sector, 42 kilometres west of Oseberg field. The first module weighs almost 10,000t.

Storage of the oil production will be in a FSO vessel linked to the platform. The module now stands on a steel jacket which was installed in 2014 in 115m water depth . Production is due to start in 2019.

Statoil officially changed its name to Equinor in May this year as part of a commitment to developing as a broad energy company.
