Enerpac Gantry Quickly Deployed for loading and Unloading 12t Furnace
Europe Automotive Holding a.s (EAH), a leading Czech supplier of industrial assembly and moving services, has taken advantage of the ease of transport of its new Enerpac SL200 hydraulic gantry to assist in moving a furnace between two manufacturing plants in the Czech Republic and Slovakia in record time.
The 12t furnace required careful handling as its internal parts had to remain in place during the move. Height and space constraints prevented the use of a mobile crane. In addition to ensuring the integrity of the furnace interior, it had to be transported on its side. The use of the SL200 gantry allowed the furnace to be lifted and turned in a single controlled movement and lowered onto the transport chassis. Using the gantry, the furnace was then lifted and loaded onto the waiting transporter.
The hydraulic gantry’s easy disassembly and transport capability allowed EAH to quickly arrive at the new production facility in Slovakia and unload and install the furnace. Due to the time saved on the project, the SL 200 gantry was then also used for laying and loading 6t-8t baler machines.
“In addition to the ease of deploying the Enerpac SL200 in the cramped conditions of a busy factory, the low dead weight of the gantry is a significant advantage. As in this project we are able to transport it quickly to and between customer sites, making our lifting services very competitive,” says Josef Bureš, CEO of Europe Automotive Holding a.s.
The Enerpac SL200 Super Lift Gantry is designed for lifting applications up to 2000 kN.
Each leg of the 2200 kg gantry has a retracted height of 2730 mm and an extended height of 6700 mm. The SL200 gantry comes standard with Enerpac Intellilift wireless controls, providing users with a safe and reliable way to operate the gantry. In addition, each leg of the gantry has self-contained hydraulics, which eliminates trip hazards by removing the need to connect hoses and simplifies equipment set-up.
