EEW SPC Completes Baltic Eagle Project Monopile Production

In December 2022 the last monopile for the Baltic Eagle offshore wind project left the production line at EEW Special Pipe Constructions’ Rostock site, as scheduled.

50 monopiles, which have a diameter of between 8.75 and 9 meters, have been steel-structurally completed as well as coated.

“We would like to thank Iberdrola for the trust they have placed in us. So far, everything has gone smoothly and we are delighted to have been able to play our part in the success of the project,” says Robert Dreves, Managing Director of EEW SPC.

From spring 2023, the foundations will be float transported to the installation site in the Baltic Sea.

The company has delivered a 1,421t monopile for the wind farm, breaking its record for the heaviest monopile set six years ago when EEW SPC manufactured the 1302.5t monopile for the Veja Mate project at its Rostock site. The monopile had a diameter of 9m and a length of 89.36m.
