DolWin Epsilon Platform Arrives in Haugesund Onboard Mighty Servant 1
A long-distance transport can hardly get any better than the colorful and impressive transport of the DolWin Epsilon platform onboard the Boskalis semi-submersible heavy transport vessel Mighty Servant 1. This week the 23,000t HVDC converter platform arrived in Haugesund, Norway.
When installed offshore the platform will export the wind-generated electricity from several German offshore wind farms to the onshore power grid,
Looking at the cargo and the heavy transport vessel, it is clearly visible that the Mighty Servant 1 has been specially modified for the transport of this green energy converter. At crucial points, the deck has been widened with four outriggers, which support the four massive columns of the DolWin Epsilon.
This impressive transport is another striking example of how Boskalis is making a significant contribution to the energy transition with its broad range of maritime services.
