WWPC members overcame typhoon and port restriction for transformer project in Asia
ALS in Hull were commissioned by their client to organise the collection of 12 offshore fender sections and ancillaries from Penglai, China with final delivery to Tarbert Port, Isle of Harris.
Harris is the southern and more mountainous part of Lewis and Harris, which are actually two parts of largest island in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland. The port of Tarbert is situated on the east coast of the island.
Tarbert Ferry Terminal is currently undergoing an upgrade to the port facilities, including dredging, to allow for larger ferry vessels to use the port. Tarbert provides the shortest sea route to the Isle of Skye which is now connected to the Scottish mainland by a road bridge.

The movement also involved 1 x 40 foot H/C Container and 1 x 20 foot G.P. These containers were loaded with parts.
