Collett Delivers 4 Silos to HZI Skelton Grange Energy from Waste facility

The Collett Team recently completed the delivery of four large silos to the HZI Skelton Grange Energy from Waste facility in Leeds. The silos were delivered over the course of two weeks, with the final silo successfully delivered last night.

The project began at Goole Dock, where the silos were received and transported to our Goole depot for temporary storage. Before the transportation phase, our Project Department conducted a comprehensive route survey, identifying necessary route modifications such as street furniture removal and tree surgery.

Due to the height of the largest silos, a high load route was planned, requiring bridge height surveys along a section of the M1 motorway. This prioritised both safety and efficiency in the transportation process.

Loaded onto hydraulic modular vessel bridge trailers, specifically built to meet the cargo dimensions, all movements were accompanied by Collett and Police escorts from both North and West Yorkshire divisions.
