Canadian C.G. Vessel Engines Removed and Installed with Goldhofer SPMTs at Seaspan’s Vancouver Drydock
Goldhofer are always very excited to see where their self-propelled vehicles are used! In this case, a large ship was being repaired and their heavy-duty modules were making their contribution to a quick and uncomplicated completion.
Seaspan’s Vancouver Drydock reported that their team were making good progress on the refit of the Canadian Coast Guard/Garde côtière canadienne multi-mission icebreaker, CCGS Sir Wilfrid Laurier. Only 10 weeks after the ship’s old engines had been removed, three new engines were installed in the engine room, painting well underway, and the cutout of the hull had been welded into place.
“The timelapse may be sped up, but it really is extraordinary to see how quickly this complex project is coming together. Thanks to our expert team, the Laurier is on track to undock by the end of the month.” said Martinus (Barry) Kas, Project Director.
