Cadeler Confirms Option for New Wind Osprey Crane

Cadeler A/S, a key supplier within the offshore wind industry for installation services, operation, and maintenance works has confirmed their option of replacing the main crane on Wind Osprey by Q1/2024 in conjunction with the crane replacement on Wind Orca.

In December last year, Cadeler A/S contracted NOV to upgrade Wind Orca with a new and improved crane that meets future offshore market demands for best-in-class installation vessels. Within this contract Cadeler A/S had an option to replace the main crane of Wind Osprey which has now been called.

The crane replacement on Wind Osprey is scheduled to be initiated in Q4/2023 and will be completed in conjunction with the crane replacement on Wind Orca, benefitting fully from the synergies of both projects. The replacement is scheduled for completion in Q1/2024 and will be ready in time for the next generation of wind turbines.

Mikkel Gleerup, CEO of Cadeler A/S, says: “We are pleased to confirm that we have called the option to replace the crane on Wind Osprey, which was included in the contract made with NOV in December of last year. We will thus deliver on our promise to keep our current fleet of vessels ready for future demands that call for even larger cranes with higher specifications, which will ultimately benefit both our clients and the transition to renewable energy.”
