Bridge Sections Installed near Cologne by Wagenborg Nedlift
Wagenborg Nedlift’s craftsmen were called on to use their knowledge and skills for the installation of rail bridge sections in Frenchen, near Cologne.
A Demag CC2200 Crawler Crane was selected by Wagenborg Nedlift for the task.
But these lifts were not without some challenges. The approach route and the construction site were a challenge ‘in itself’. The very cramped construction site was accessible only via a temporary link from a track through the heavily forested country side.
Assembling the crawler crane on location and placing the bridge sections, with lengths up to 11.5m weights up to 65t, was a project worthy of Wagenborg Nedlift’s experience and skills.
At a later stage, similar bridge sections will be placed on the north side of the rail line, so that the north and south sides will be ‘folded’ together to form a single entity.
