Boskalis Completes Borkum Riffgrund 3 Inter-Array Cable Installation and Burial

Ørsted’s Borkum Riffgrund 3 inter-array cable installation and burial completed by the Boskalis vessels BOKA Ocean and Ndeavor.

A notable fact about these vessels is that they both have performed these tasks for the first time after considerable conversion work.

When Boskalis acquired the vessel a year ago the BOKA Ocean was classified as a pipe-laying vessel. However, the Boskalis Fleet Management and Central Fleet Support departments have converted the vessel into a state-of-the-art cable-laying vessel.

Similarly their Ndeavor had to be converted from being the support vessel during SMIT Salvage’s work on the FSO Safer in Yeman.

Both vessels performed their new cable related work on the Ørsted offshore wind farm successfully.
