Blue Water Tidal Turbine Transport Task

Blue Water Brest was very proud to be awarded the scope of transporting the tidal turbine of our client CMN-HydroQuest from the factory in Cherbourg to alongside the ultra-modern installation vessel “Normand Vision” from the company Ocean Installer in Norway. Next to that we were also awarded the scope of receiving and assembling the so-called clump weights, which are ballasts weights to be put in the foundation, on the quay side in Cherbourg thus preparing them for loadout on the “Normand Vision”, and last but not least permitting with the French Authorities for the “Normand Vision” to work in French waters.

The job went very well, and we really wish CMN- HydroQuest plenty of success with their turbine and look forward to be working together with them in the years to come.

Project Manager Mickaël Verdiere of CMN- HydroQuest to all involved parties in the Project: “ Once again, thank you for your strong involvement, which made it possible to meet the expected deadline so that our tidal turbine could be installed in the best condition on the Paimpol-Bréhat test site. Congratulations to everybody involved and your teams on this great success”

Logistics Lead Manager at Ocean Installer Mamadou Balde’s message to all parties involved: “Safely back in Norway, I wanted to take a moment to write a few lines about your appreciated support during the call of our vessel the “Normand Vision” at Cherbourg for the CMN-HydroQuest tidal turbine project. The operations at port went with no incidents and no delay. Our end clients are very pleased with the job done. From the port management to the stevedores, you have all highly contributed to the success of this project by your professionalism, commitment and flexibility. So, on behalf of Ocean Installer thank you!”.
