Blue Water Gothenburg and Houston have handled the transport of a press hardening line for our client AP&T AB with cargo from Sweden and Germany to the US.

The scope of work for this project was to move two heavy lift pieces, five oversize pieces (in total 267 tons) and eight containers from door to door.

“The heavy lifts and oversize shipment from Sweden were originally planned for departure in the beginning of July, but due to the summer season, there were some changes in sailings and the departure was moved to an earlier date. The change in schedule affected the whole transport planning, but through hard work and extra efforts from all parties involved (AP&T, Blue Water, Westdijk, Logent and WWL), we managed to get the pieces on board the vessel the day before Midsummer Eve,” says Anna Hägerstrand Coordinator on the project at Blue Water Gothenburg.

In the US, Chris Hartman from Blue Water Houston took over and coordinated the deliveries of cargo from port of destination to door in Georgia, US.

“Through a good cooperation between AP&T and Blue Water Shipping, we solved this challenge in the best possible way and managed to keep the project schedule,” says Tina Bengtsson, Project Manager at AP&T Sweden.

AP&T supplies sheet metal to companies all over the world with cost-efficient production solutions based on industryleading technology and developed to satisfy the industry’s very high demands. This includes stand-alone presses, automation, tooling and related aftermarket services.
