For more than 15 years, Blue Water has been involved in transport of defense equipment for various Ministries of Defense and suppliers to the Defense industry.
Recently, our Government and Defense Logistics department in Oslo was contracted by the Norwegian Defense to transport the first shipment of self-propelled howitzers and resupply vehicle from South Korea to Rena in Norway.
“Our scope started in the early stages, where our specialists were contacted to engage a route study to ensure alignment of government regulation and licence transit requirements from port of loading in South Korea to final delivery to the Norwegian Defense. To eliminate potential delay, it is very important to have the team involved as early as possible. We need to be two steps ahead to ensure all licences are approved to prevent delay and hold-ups”, says Henrik Sand Damgaard, Head of Government & Defense Logistics & Air Charter Department, Blue Water Billund.
The transport (140 tons/438 cbm) was executed with excellence and to our client’s great satisfaction. One of the main reasons for the great success is related to our Government and Defense teams working together with our client and utilising excellent support from the global organisation and in-house competences, contracted agents and business partners – all in accordance with our motto: “Together we create solutions.”
