BigLift’s Happy Buccaneer Delivers 4 New Automated Stacking Cranes from Konecranes to London Gateway

BigLift Shipping B.V. have released some stunning pictures of their Happy Buccaneer on her way to London.

Yesterday DP World received four new state-of-the-art Automated Stacking Cranes (ASCs) at London Gateway, as the company continues to invest in vital infrastructure to support the UK supply chain.

The ASCs, supplied by Finnish manufacturer Konecranes, represent a significant step in streamlining operations at London Gateway. Special software is being developed to integrate the new ASCs with the existing crane fleet to ensure high levels of productivity and a seamless experience for customers. The ASCs will transfer containers from the port yard to lorries bound for consumer markets across the country. They will serve the new £350m all-electric fourth berth – the first of its kind in the world – which will increase capacity at the logistics hub by a third when it opens next year.
