Automotive Press Transported from Germany to Turkey by Truck – Barge – Ship – Truck with Alexander Global Logistics
The German automotive industry is known to be one of the most competitive and innovative globally.
Given this, it is no surprise that, Alexander Global Logistics (AGL), regularly provides logistic support when required in the sector.
The AGL team has recently transported an automotive press consisting of three heavy parts and accessories for their latest project. The heavy components measured 10m x 5m x 3.50m and weighed 135t each. The automotive press marks the beginning of the automotive production process and is one of the most critical machines to start production.
The cargo was first transported to the nearest barge port in Erfurt by truck. It was then loaded onto the barge for further transport to the Port of Antwerp. In Antwerp, the cargo was reloaded onto a vessel for further movement to Gemlik Port in Turkey. The parts were then transported to the mill site in Bursa by truck. 30 trucks were used to transport the accessories directly to Turkey. The scope undertaken by the AGL team also included arranging the necessary permits, which usually take around 6-8 weeks to complete and crane and terminal operations.
The AGL team started the project under FCA terms while delivering the cargo under DAP terms to the site in Bursa. Alexander Global Logistics extends their gratitude to their client for the trust and all the parties involved in the successful completion of the project.
