ALS Success with Multimodal OOG Transportation from Germany to Russia

Abnormal Load Services (ALS) Hamburg team has successfully completed the “turnkey” transportation of a heavy, oversized boiler from Germany to Russia.
Cargo details: 45.5 m х 3.6 m х 3.5 m, and a weight of 83 tons
Multimodal transportation for the boiler included road transportation to point of loading, where the route of transportation was agreed and confirmed with local Road Authorities; civil works on route were done using a 3D Scan for the most difficult parts of the route.
The boiler was delivered by sea to the trans-shipment port. For the final part of route, the boiler was loaded on to a special rail car with a capacity 120 tons.
For transportation by rail of such a heavy, oversized cargo it is necessary to fully comply with all the Russian Railway requirements.
All transport drawings of cargo and transport were prepared and also confirmed.
The transit time travelling a distance of approximately 4,000 kms was 1 month.
ALS teams are ready and able to offer their customers multimodal logistics solutions for oversized cargo up to 500 tons using special rail cars to Russia and other CIS countries.
