ALS Fix Transport, Lifts and Lashings for Export of Two 51t Compressors to Russia
ALS’ exceptionally committed operations team worked together to organise the transport of 2 compressor units and ancillary equipment within the UK to meet a vessel to take them to their destination in Russia.
The two compressors each measured 13.10m long a 4.41m wide with a height of 4.50m and weighed 51t. They were transported on low bed trailers and a further five trailers were utilised to carry the additional ancillary equipment.
Lifting and quay operations were arranged by ALS to lift all 18 crated items into the hold of the vessel, which were lashed and safely secured for the vessel’s voyage from Grangemouth.
Scope of work:
- Transport by road from factory to quay
- Crane lifts direct from trailer to vessel
- Lashings on board the vessel to secure the load in the hold.
The movement involved a lot of planning and some last minute adjustments to ensure the cargo was carefully and safely transported from the collection point to the vessel with the most cost-effective solution.
