ALE is actively involved in projects worldwide. Namely projects that consist moving and installing parts that are abnormally heavy or are huge in size.
The R&D department in Breda manufactures equipment for all the company’s departments worldwide to carry out projects of all sorts in the sectors: civil construction, mining, the offshore industry, the energy sector and shipyards.
“The earlier we are involved in a project, the better we can help our customers in providing them tailormade solutions,” says Ronald Hoefmans, Group Technical Director, ALE.
A special project for ALE was the Swan River Bridge in Perth, Australia. Hoefmans: “During this project we had to build two temporarily 50 metres high towers, in a narrow space on the bridge pillars, to install the arches of the bridge. There was no space for auxiliary cranes to help building the towers.
We developed a unique solution with the Mega Jack-system, a system that could build the 50 metres high towers itself and additionally pull up the bridge elements on site while being in the narrow space.”
