Ainscough Target Scottish Prospects in Dundee

The UK’s leading lifting solutions company, Ainscough Crane Hire, has officially opened its new depot in Dundee and revealed details of its plan to further bolster its services to clients across Scotland.

The new site is located at Glamis Road, and provides Ainscough with an improved infrastructure in Scotland. The city’s central location means Ainscough’s team will be able to reach all major populations in Scotland easily.

The opening of new depot was marked by an official event attended by representatives of several Ainscough clients in the region, including Invertay Homes, Jackson Steel Structures and Taylor Wimpey.

The expansion of Ainscough’s footprint within Dundee means that the company will be able to base vehicles from its Heavy Cranes and Transport fleet at the new depot.

The improved facilities and coverage will allow Ainscough to improve the service it offers clients across multiple sectors, including construction, infrastructure throughout Scotland and locally housebuilding within Dundee.

The new location is ideally designed for a crane operator, and the site provides Ainscough with improved facilities that will help its team continually improve the service it offers its customers. The depot incorporates offices, meeting rooms, workshops, showers, welfare and overnight amenities as well as improved parking.

The opening of the new depot represents the latest stage of Ainscough’s investment in Scotland. Earlier this year, a new 27,852 sq ft depot was opened in the Highlands between Inverness and Invergordon on the Highland Deephaven Industrial Estate, which has allowed the company to further grow its wind energy offering while also continuing to deliver a superior service for clients across a range of other sectors in the Highlands.

Graham Spence, Taylor Wimpey’s site manager at the Victoria Grange development in the Monifieth area of Dundee, said: “Ainscough has been brilliant to work with on Victoria Grange. It’s a busy housebuilding project but the team are always on time and with the exact type of crane that is required – brilliant people to work with. I’d like to congratulate the team on the fantastic new depot – it was great to be here at the opening and we look forward to continuing to work closely together.”

Gavin Egdell, Ainscough Crane Hire’s regional operations manager – Scotland, said: “Opening this new depot was a wonderful way to bring a great year for Ainscough Crane Hire’s Scottish team to a close. This is our second new and improved depot in Scotland to open this year, and with more to follow in 2020 we are truly a company going from strength to strength across the country. Our improved presence in Dundee will allow a greater variety of clients across Scotland to utilise more of our extensive fleet, allowing our team to play a key part in many of the construction and infrastructure projects taking place throughout the country. “The new depot will also allow us to create training and employment opportunities for local people and provide support to the local economy though our work with local businesses. I look forward to working with current and new clients on many exciting projects throughout the year.

Mike D’Arcy, company director at Jackson Steel Structures, said: “As a day-to-day customer it’s pretty vital we have a depot in the local area in the Quayside as we need a local hub for all the work, we do that’s remote from Glasgow and Aberdeen. Ainscough’s new depot looks absolutely fantastic, and I’ve no doubt the already brilliant service it delivers will go from strength to strength.”
