ALE performs North America’s biggest land lift
ALE has performed one of North America’s heaviest crane lifts using a land based heavylift crane, lifting the 3179.5 US t (2,884.4 metric tonnes) MRU module, for an oil and gas project in Texas, USA.
BigLift’s Happy Star is carrying all the parts for the 2200t Huisman Leg Encircling crane for the WTIV Charybdis, presently under construction at the Keppel AmFels shipyard Brownsville, Texas.
The WTIV Charybdis will be the first Jones Act compliant installation vessel specifically designed for the US offshore wind farm sector.
Upon arrival at Brownville around the 19th of March 2023, the Happy Star will discharge the crane parts onto the newbuilt vessel and barges.
The entire operation is being precisely prepared in close cooperation with the engineering teams of Keppel Amfels, Huisman and BigLift Shipping.
BigLift is proud to be part of this project and to show Happy Star’s unrivalled capabilities to transport the new generation of cranes for the renewable market.
