The powertrain consists of a 12.9-liter 462 hp engine with a maximum torque of 2,300 Nm at 1000-1450 rpm , automatic ZF 12-speed gearbox and a new single reduction drive axle .
This new engine is equipped with common rail fuel injection , a variable geometry turbocharger , exhaust gas recirculation and ingenious exhaust after treatment to meet the stringent Euro 6 emission requirements .
To generate sufficient braking performance in heavy transport up to 72 tons , the DAF\’s features the MX Engine Brake with a maximum braking power of 360 kW .
