deugro recently transported a massive two-part track-laying machine from Bremerhaven, Germany, to Port Kembla, Australia.
Weighing a combined 182t, the cargo was too heavy for conventional MAFI trailers.
Together with their partner Wallenius Wilhelmsen, they developed a creative solution:
- Part 1 (104 tons)
- Using stools and beams, they carefully maneuvered this part onto the ship using SPMTs and shore cranes.
- Part 2 (78 tons):
- This part was transported on a railed roll trailer and loaded onto the ship using a shore crane.
This strategy allowed them to successfully transport this crucial piece of machinery for their client, Plasser & Theurer Export von Bahnbaumaschinen G.m.b.H., to its destination on schedule.
