140t Diesel Engine for Bangladesh

A Diesel engine weighing 140t is lifted using the ship’s gear.

In the days before Christmas the SAL heavy Lift vessel, MV Annette, loaded a 140t Wartsila Diesel engine and 6 generators, each weighing 71 tons in Mäntyluoto part of the Finnish port of Pori.

The cargo destination is Bangladesh.

During the past 18 months, Wärtsilä has previously booked orders for 11 power plant deliveries to Bangladesh. The company already provides approximately 25 percent of the country’s grid capacity, and when this latest order is delivered and installed Wärtsilä’s total power supply to Bangladesh will exceed 4500 MW.
