Two jacks help rotate an overpass on Danyang Road in Heze, East China's Shandong province on Nov. 2016.

The 24,800-ton overpass rotated counterclockwise 81.67 degrees to cross railway lines and a freight yard to connect with the approach parts.

It is the heaviest cable-stayed bridge in the world to rotate by this much.

Another bridge span over a busy railway line connecting Wuhan and Jiujiang City of east China's Jiangxi Province, with more than 150 pairs of trains running every day.

In order not to hamper the railway line, the workers built the box girder at right-angles to where the bridge will sit. The rotating operation of the box girder, which is 24.1 meters wide, started at 00:38.

Tuesday's operation must be completed in the 115-minute-gap between two trains to fit it into place. It took 72 minutes to complete the operation.

The flyover is expected to be put into use in the latter half of 2017. The bridge's another box girder completed the 90-degree turn on May 18.
