GSL takes delivery of the new Demag AC220-5
19. April 2017
Mexican crane rental and logistics company Grúas y Soluciones Logísticas (GSL) has taken delivery of a new five axle 220 tonne Demag AC 220-5 All Terrain crane, the first to arrive in the Americas.
The new crane boasts an eight section 78 metre main boom, plus an 11.4 to 21 metre bi-fold swingaway extension for a 99 metre maximum tip height. Other features include all wheel steer with independent rear axle steering and a dynamic launch control for precise positioning of the crane in confined spaces, and IC-1 Plus control system.
The IC-1 Plus system calculates the crane’s capacity, based on the actual outrigger and counterweight setting and will also maximise the capacity based on slew angle.

GSL president Carlos Salas said: "We determined that the Demag AC 220-5 All Terrain crane was the best machine for our needs after evaluating several crane models in, and around, the 220 tonne capacity class at Bauma last year. The combination of this unit's compact body design, manoeuvrability, reach and high capacity was what really sold us.
It will help us better service our customers in, and around, Mexico City — especially on those jobs where we don't have a lot of room to work within."
GSL introduced the new crane to customers with an open house “Our guests were impressed with the crane’s innovative features and state of the art technologies," said Salas.
“We received several inquiries during the event about future projects. It was exactly the type of response we were hoping for.” SOURCE: Vertikal.net
