Skiathos, the Second St Maarten! Low Landings and Jetblasts -

Gepubliceerd op 15 aug 2013

Few people with an interest in aviation will not have heard of the island of St Maarten, famous for its spectacular airport, Princess Juliana, where aircraft pass over Maho beach at head-height. The airport of the Greek island of Skiathos offers identical approaches and can be described as "The Second St Maarten"! Enjoy the thrill of watching masses of metal passing right over your head, and literally get "blown away" by the insane jet blasts, while the pilots increase the throttles to full thrust!

How much aviation can you stand? After last year's tremendous success, a 1-hour spotting video at Skiathos, I had received endless requests for more! This year, I had set an overwhelming goal to make a 2 hour video, but I was absolutely stunned when I found out that I had recorded 111 GIGABYTES of video! So, there you go aviation maniacs, SEVEN HOURS of insane plane spotting at Skiathos, the second St Maarten! Few people with an interest in aviation will not have heard of the island of St Maarten, famous for its spectacular airport, Princess Juliana, where aircraft pass over Maho beach at head-height. The airport of the Greek island of Skiathos offers identical approaches and can be described as "The Second St Maarten". Skiathos Airport (LGSK) is an airport on the island of Skiathos, Greece. Its 5,341-foot runway is able to accommodate aircraft up to the size of a Boeing 757-200, due to the fact that the runway is characterised as short, narrow and curved!
